About Mount Laurel EMS
Mount Laurel Emergency Medical Services has long been a provider of emergency medical services to the community of Mount Laurel. We are comprised primarily of over 100 volunteer members serving the township during weeknights and weekends, as well as paid career staff who serve during weekdays. Our members include state certified emergency medical technicians, valuable trainees, and rescue personnel.
Services
We currently have six fully-stocked ambulances in service that are ready to handle any medical emergency situation. In addition to the ambulances, Mount Laurel EMS has one of the few county-wide Multi-Casualty Trailers, which is available to all townships in Burlington county. This trailer is stocked with supplies capable of providing treatment to as many as fifty patients in a single incident.
The members of Mount Laurel EMS are also proud of our special division teams. Our ice/water rescue team is ready for emergencies which occur in and around Mount Laurel's many bodies of water with two well-equipped boats and highly-trained staff. We also maintain a vehicle extrication/rescue division that is on call around the clock with a fully-equipped rescue vehicle.

EMT stands for Emergency Medical Technician. These individuals must attend 120 hours of classroom instruction in order to qualify to take both a written and practical exam that has been approved by the State of New Jersey Division of Transportation. After certification, the EMT is continually updating her skills through additional training sessions.

What is CPR?
Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, is given to those patients whose heart has stopped beating and they have ceased breathing. Through a series of rescue breathing and compressions administered to the chest, CPR helps give those patients a chance for survival. CPR works best when started as soon as it is deemed necessary.
